L'Hemisfèric - Calatrava's Masterpiece Inspired by Nature

Designed by Santiago Calatrava in Valencia, Spain, L’Hemisfèric is renowned as one of the most magnificent structures among art complexes. Calatrava emphasizes that he develops the aesthetic and technological features in his designs by drawing inspiration from nature. The architectural structure, inspired by the eye, represents the eye of wisdom. The building is surrounded by a 24,000-square-meter lake with a glass bottom. The relationship between the lake and L’Hemisfèric becomes apparent when the "eye" opens and closes, providing viewers with a mesmerizing experience by reflecting the entire eye when closed.
